Little Getaway!

This weekend was the grand opening at our favorite little spot Dutch Wonderland! We used some of the boys' money from Christmas/their birthdays and renewed our season passes. Caleb loves going and I love being with my family without distractions! It's so clean!
We read in the Baltimore Sun that there was going to be no water in our area Friday evening into Saturday afternoon. My shower OCD hit overload and I talked Jason into staying the night before at our favorite hotel the Fulton Steam Boat Inn (www.fultonsteamboatinn.com). In the end it turns out that we didn't lose water, but I'm not too upset! We had a blast! Above Caleb is climbing up into the bunkbeds that were in our room.

After checking in and getting settled we went for a swim. Boy have swim lessons paid off for Caleb! Not only is the fear gone, he's even showing some comfort with the water. He enjoyed showing off how he goes under the water now!

Before checking out the next day we checked out the koi fish and baby ducks! I wish we had more time to spend in this area, the playground and pond were gorgeous! Blake kept pointing at the fish!

We arrived at Dutch Wonderland 30 minutes before the park opened, as we always do. Getting there early pays off! We get on rides several times with no lines! We got the boys a new wagon as ours was stolen. It turned out to be an awesome investment! There are two bucket seats with seat belts and room for storage.

We were first in line to enter the park. I thought Caleb might pop out of his shoes with excitement!

The park was surprisingly empty. We were allowed to stay on rides several times (like the log flume) without having to get off.

Caleb has always enjoyed ringing the bell on their little schoolhouse. This year he also enjoyed writing his name on the chalkboard inside of it. It's amazing how much my little boy has grown in a short year!

We also were able to walk right up to the gondola cruise. These boats go through beautiful gardens. I could almost take a nap!

The dive show hasn't changed since last year, but Caleb still loves it! This time it was amusing because there was an unwelcome duck in the pool!

We ended our day on another little boat ride at the front of the park. Caleb refused to share the steering wheel with Blake. It was evident that meltdowns were on the horizon so we left. That's the joy of a season pass! We don't feel pressured to do everything, every time we go!

We had not even got out of the parking lot and Blake was asleep. I thought it was cute that he looked like he was giving a thumbs up!
